Each vessel measures 21.7 meters in length and 5.9 meters in width and is fitted with BOS Power’s state-of-the-art IMO Tier III certified propulsion systems, delivering high performance while adhering to strict emissions regulations. Designed for long-range operations, these vessels offer an operational range of over 350 nautical miles and can achieve speeds exceeding 35 knots.
Built with advanced safety features
BOS Power is set to deliver seven mtu propulsion systems, each featuring 2 x 10V2000M96L engines rated at 1,193 kW at 2,450 rpm. These systems are equipped with BOS Power SCR technology to ensure full compliance with IMO Tier III emission standards for Search and Rescue (SAR) vessels.
The vessels are custom-built to the highest standards, ensuring their capability to withstand the most demanding maritime conditions while maintaining minimal environmental impact.
The vessels are equipped with advanced safety features, including self-righting capabilities. The propulsion system is certified to meet IMO Tier III emission standards and includes a full 360° capsize rollover kit, allowing the engines to remain operational during a capsize.
Demanding requirements
“The collaboration between BOS Power and our team has been instrumental in choosing a propulsion system that we can fully rely on. Their expertise and dedication have ensured that these vessels will meet our operational needs with exceptional performance and reliability, crucial for the demanding missions the vessels will undertake across Danish waters", says Henrik Myklebust, SVP Sales and Marketing at Maritime Partner.
"This project shows the strong collaboration between BOS Power and Maritime Partner, working closely to tailor a propulsion system that is both innovative and perfectly fit for purpose. By combining our expertise in propulsion technology with their vessel design experience, we have developed a solution that meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and sustainability", states Peter H. Kahrs, Sales Director at BOS Power.
The contract consolidates BOS Power and mtu`s strong position for the supply of propulsion engines for the most demanding requirements placed on such types of vessels.
The fleet will play a major role in assisting more than 600 annual operations across Danish territories, particularly throughout the Kattegat and parts of the Baltic Sea. The new boats, officially designated as the Danish Rescue Vessels (DRV), will undertake salvage, maritime assistance, and emergency response missions from stations located at Anholt, Gedser, Grenå, Nexø, Østerby, Rønne, and Skagen.
