BOS Power Wins Contract to Deliver Green Energy Solution to Norwegian Hias IKS in January 2024

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Hias IKS, an inter-municipal company located in Ottestad, north of Oslo, dedicated to securing critical infrastructure.

Hias IKS, servicing the municipalities of Hamar, Løten, Ringsaker, and Stange, provides water and sewage services to the community through a circular process where wastewater is purified, utilized, and then returned to the environment. Using the power of biogas generated from wastewater to produce electricity, they subsequently offer electricity to consumers at indexed market rates. This approach effectively transforms waste into a valuable energy resource, with no surplus power exportation.

As part of our partnership with Hias IKS, we will provide a comprehensive solution comprising a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system. This system includes a gas engine and generator, a state-of-the-art control system, switchgear, and an exhaust system designed to capture and convert the heat produced by the biogas into usable warmth.

  • We are pleased to contribute to the development of an environmentally responsible energy solution for the residents of Ottestad. This partnership underlines our commitment to sustainable energy solutions and our dedication to a greener, more resilient energy future. We look forward to the implementation of our system in January 2024, says Senior Sales Manager Gunnar Aasbø.

We anticipate that our collaboration with Hias IKS will serve as a model for other municipalities looking to embrace eco-friendly, circular energy systems.

  • Hias is pleased that BOS Power is delivering a new gas engine to Hias. The gas engine will increase the self-sufficiency rate of energy at Hias by 32%. This will help Hias in achieving its long-term goal, a climate-neutral wastewater treatment plant while simultaneously increasing the revenue from resources in the wastewater, says CEO Knut Holen.
